U.S. and Scottish prosecutors have identified two Libyan men as official suspects in the 1988 Lockerbie bombing that brought down Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing 270. The two suspects are believed to have acted along with Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, the only person thus far convicted for the terrorist attack on the evening of Dec. 21, 1988.

Prosecutors have requested permission from Libyan authorities to interview the suspects, but The Associated Press reports that "given Libya's instability, that may be a remote prospect." For the last decade, the investigation has remained largely unfinished because of Libya's relationship with the West.
