On Thursday, the family of Michael Brown will announce that they are filing a wrongful death suit against the city of Ferguson, Missouri.

The unarmed black teenager was shot and killed by former Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson last August, an event that sparked protests both in and out of Ferguson. A press release distributed on Wednesday evening stated that the Brown family and attorneys will make the announcement during a press conference outside of the St. Louis County Courthouse.
