Posted by Med School, Friday, October 30, 2009, 5:00 pm Why would a zombie go to school for 16 years to get paid Public Option rates that barely cover malpractice insurance rates, let alone living expenses? The doctors of America's future will be day laborers.

Maybe for the same reason that tons of other people pay their way through years of grad school and rack up 100k in debt without a 100k job guaranteed to them after graduating... because said zombie values education and serving others. Besides, why do you think med school costs are so inflated compared to other graduate programs... because med students are getting a spa treatment? No, it's because associated costs of health care, health care workers and health facilities where students are trained are out of control.

How about this reason for being a doctor ... a person LOVES people and wants to help them, gets enjoyment out of helping others, want to make a difference in this world....Unfortunately, for most Americans money IS your God.
