Stormy Daniels: Porn star senator?

Republicans say talk of a porn candidate is a stunt to shame Sen. David Vitter

Fans of porn star Stormy Daniels have high hopes, said CNN. They've launched a Draft Stormy website to urge her to run against Sen. David Vitter, a Republican who was linked to the "D.C. Madam." Daniels says she's considering a run (click here for CNN's report), and her fans insist this is "no racy gimmick," although Louisiana Republicans dismissed it as a tawdry publicity stunt.

Of course that's what it is, said Jim Geraghty in National Review. "You don't have to like Vitter" to recognize this as a ridiculous sham. CNN (click here for the interview) even stooped to airing an interview with Daniels—or whatever her real name is—but the charade only made anchor Rick Sanchez look "silly for treating it like a serious political story."
