Gossip: Rihanna

Rihanna kept thousands of young fans waiting for more than four hours at a promotional event last week, then stuck around for just 16 minutes once she got there. The singer was due to address 2,500 teenage winners of a video contest she’d sponsored at a Chicago high school, but she didn’t turn up until after 5 p.m. Then, after a short speech and a couple of minutes posing for photos, she left again without a word of apology. Many of the 25-year-old’s fans weren’t happy. “This is just rude,” Patricia Halle, a junior, told the Chicago Tribune. “Our lives don’t revolve around a pop star. Our school worked hard to win this. She should be more respectful.”
