George W. Bush's favorite pistol, A gambler's wishful thinking

Saddam Hussein's pistol: Soon to be seen at George W. Bush's presidential library (George W. Bush Presidential Library)

Good day for: Gun rights, as one of former president George W. Bush's most treasured possessions -- Saddam Hussein's pistol -- will be displayed at Bush's presidential libarary when it opens at Southern Methodist University in 2013. The 9 millimeter Glock 18C pistol was found in the spider hole in Iraq where Hussein was captured in December 2003 by Delta Force soldiers, who later presented the weapon to Bush. (The New York Times)

Bad day for: Admitting mistakes, when a former South Korean company boss who allegedly lost $23.5 million dollars gambling sued a casino, accusing it of fueling his addiction. The 67-year-old man, identified only as Chung, is appealing a November ruling ordering the Kangwon Land casino to pay him only about a tenth of what he lost in damages. (Agence France Presse)

Posted by Teddy H Craig, Tuesday, July 7, 2009, 3:18 am I don't understand this people. He had 23 million dollars. Did he really need more money than that? I could think of a lot of thinks which I would do with 23 millions dollars and, most certainly, wasting it gambling at a casino wouldn't be one of them!Who are the parents of this person? Did greed and ignorance come together and have a son! Because trying to have more than 23 million is nothing bur sheer greed and, trying to do so by placing bets at a casino is total ignorance. And I'm equally shocked he won a suit to get any money back!

Posted by mz, Tuesday, July 7, 2009, 7:38 am Gambling is not about money buddy... However I DO love the Saddam Glock... almost iromic in that he got the gun from G.W's daddy yes, seriously.

Posted by SteveC, Monday, July 13, 2009, 11:01 pm Sidebar: Interestingly, the Glock 18 is a selectivefire pistol. That is, rotating the unique lever on the leftrear side of the slide see photo changes the firearm operation from semiautomatic mode one discharge per trigger pull to fullyautomatic mode continual firing until the trigger is released or until the magagine is depleted of cartridges i.e., like a submachinegun.

Posted by Ernie Sandoval, Wednesday, August 19, 2009, 1:13 pm Although Mr. Bush has Saddam Husseins gun in his library, it was certainly NOT worth the 5000 American' lives he spent to get it, based on his lies and misdirections. Mr. Bush was a disgrace to the American people.
