Diana Ross could end up as guardian of Michael Jackson's children, said British Marie Claire. The late King of Pop named the singer as guardian should his 79-year-old mother, Katherine, be unable to take care of his three kids—Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and Blanket, 7. Ross, who was devastated by Michael Jackson's death, is a logical choice—"the pair's friendship dated back to the '60s, when they worked together on the Tamla Motown record labels."

Let's hope Ross already knew of Michael Jackson's plans for his children, said gossip blogger Perez Hilton. "For one thing, it is an honor to know someone trusts you that much, however, it would have been a rather shocking task to deal with had it come to pass."

"On the face of it you might say, Diana Ross?" said Roger Friedman in The Hollywood Reporter. "But on the other hand, Michael might have had a good idea. Ross has raised a family of five accomplished, achieving, and scandal-free children of her own. The eldest, Tracee Ross, has been a successful actress for some time. Rhonda Kendricks Ross is also an actress and singer. A third daughter is married and expecting a child. Ross also has two sons by late billionaire Arne Naess."

Posted by DW, Thursday, July 2, 2009, 1:10 pm While I think it is sad for anyone to lose their father, it may be in the children's best interest to be raised in a more stable, sane environment with someone such as Diana Ross', at least from what is reported. I cannot state that Michael's mother would be a better influence as I dont know what part she played in Michael's years of alleged but likely abuse by his father. I pray that the kids get the kind of love and proper attention that they need.

Posted by Rocky Horror, Thursday, July 2, 2009, 1:52 pm Diana's the greatest. When is she coming back to Central Park? I doubt she wants the work and responsibility of Michael's kids especially when she would have to deal with all the relatives, newspeople, media types, etc.

Posted by SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO, Thursday, July 2, 2009, 2:50 pm Diana Ross would be an exceptional Mother! As would Michaels own Mother. She too did a phenominal job raising her own kids. GOD created Mothers for a reason. If Michael was here maybe all you who doubt his Mothers abilities could rest assure that he would not have any regrets as far as his Mother is concerned. It probably is good that he chose to leave the kids with these two Precious people so that today he can Rest In Peace. No one will ever hurt him again. By the Grace of GOD he has children to testify to how wonderful his Family really is.

Posted by powernap, Thursday, July 2, 2009, 10:59 pm C'mon, The Week, can we not hear from Perez Hilton anymore? Wasn't it just a week ago he admitted in an online rant that he attempted to provoke will.i.am by calling him a faggot? Actions speak louder than words and this guy made his bed with his hate speech. Or, you could go with words matter. Either way, this guy's a bum. Perhaps there weren't too many bloggers talking about Diana Ross and you had no choice but to include this idiot's opinion, but I for one can do without.
