Promoting frequent sex, Banning Percocet and Vicodin
Good day for mixing business with pleasure; Bad day for killing pain
GOOD DAY FOR: Mixing business and pleasure, after new research from an Australian fertility center found that couples seeking to get pregnant benefit from frequent sex. Dr. David Greening of Sydney IVF said that the man’s sperm quality improves with daily ejaculation, and that contrary to some common advice, couples should have sex every day for up to a week before ovulation. BAD DAY FOR: Killing pain, after an influential FDA advisory panel recommended a ban on two of the world’s most popular prescription paid drugs, Percocet and Vicodin. The panel, in a 20-17 vote, said that a ban was warranted because high doses of the over-the-couner painkiller acetaminophen, present in both Percocet and Vicodin, causes liver damage. The experts also advised lowering the highest allowed dosage of acetaminophen. (The New York Times)
