Michael Jackson's death has devastated the entertainment industry, said Jocelyn Vena in MTV. Singer Diana Ross, Jackson's long-time friend and co-star in The Wiz, said, "I can't stop crying. This is too sudden and shocking. I am unable to imagine this. My heart is hurting. I am in prayer for his kids and the family."

"We are out of our joy. He is out of his pain," said the Rev. Jesse Jackson, who counseled the pop star when he faced molestation charges, via the Associated Press. "He was constantly challenged in the press and all he really wanted to be was the greatest entertainer and he was that."

Michael Jackson was "the cornerstone to the entire music business," said former Sony Music head Tommy Mottola in The New York Times. "He bridged the gap between rhythm and blues and pop music and made it into a global culture ... No one has ever done what he did in his time—and no one will ever do what he did after his time."

"Michael Jackson enriched our lives, made us happy," said former Philippine first lady Imelda Marcos, also in the Times. The child molestation charges in 2003, "the persecution caused him so much financial and mental anguish. He was vindicated in court, but the battle took his life. There is probably a lesson here for all of us."

Posted by steve, Friday, June 26, 2009, 4:00 pm I cannot belief it... I am only three years older than michaeal, I have also been In entertainment for 30 years all be it in a lesser prominent roll but have always seen him as an icon of perfection in entertainment. The aligations against him which briought him down to the level of the people who made the aligations distroyed him and his free spirit of true entertainment and love of people of all ages, some people could not embrase that love and understanding of a man who lived his life in a bubble.I am so sad, for his death.

Posted by Sarah Walker, Friday, June 26, 2009, 7:45 pm Micheal faced much personel torment in life, I never believed the allegations of child abuse, he was a kind caring and very special soul .... I hope he now rests in peace and I feel in his death his children lost a great father but the world lost the greatest ever performer whom touched millions. My love to his family at this difficult time, I hope they take comfort in the fact they have the love of millions, but that they were the ones truly blessed to have shared his life with him x x

Posted by Laura, Friday, June 26, 2009, 8:34 pm I am so saddened by the loss of Michael Jackson. His music and performances are what kept my memories of my teen years growing up. One statement that was made is Those who grew up with Michael have just realized that THEY ARE GROWN UP. R.I.P Michael. Your at peace now and no one or Nothing can hurt you again! God bless you!

Posted by deborah, Friday, June 26, 2009, 11:20 pm michael jackson loved, loved, loved children... pediphelia's hate children and themselves... molestation is a violent crime that ruins childrens lives... michael loved children, and would never hurt a child... he was a child himself.... and he wanted to be around young children because he lived his childhood vicariously through them... period end of story... leave it to money hungry non talented white trash to steal money by lies and deceit.... money they never worked for... they hurt michael, and karma will hurt them....
