Posted by kh, Sunday, November 1, 2009, 8:54 amThis was a hard one I spelled amoeba not ameba. That threw me off and sent me to this page to correct several errors as a result! Lots of these clues made no sense oneeighty uie ?. I do look forward to this puzzle!
Posted by Steve T, Sunday, November 1, 2009, 10:53 amAs in hang a uie or Uturn while driving.
Posted by Tracy, Sunday, November 1, 2009, 2:05 pmI agree about ameba. Plus, wouldn't the plural be amebae and not amebas?
Posted by sylvia novick, Sunday, November 1, 2009, 2:07 pmI found this puzzle one of the most difficult to solve...ther was a time when vocabulary counted, but today the puzzles are loaded with trivia. I enjoy puzzles, but I guess when you are older...se la vie!
Posted by Sheila R, Tuesday, November 3, 2009, 3:10 amI concur, I regularly do this puzzle as well but with misspellings, if you google amebas..even they say Do you mean Amoebas? and Uie for Uie, they were stretching. In Bad With ..again is colloquial from the 1900's for chrissakes! At least add archaic and colloquial use!I have also never heard Urbs referenced although I understood the abbreviation and figured it out.Bad puzzle.
Posted by Laurence M., Thursday, November 5, 2009, 2:20 pmAmoebae has got to be correct! At least a variant heads up would have been helpful. C'est la vie indeed!
